The trouble with Christians is they expect your God to take them out of trouble. I was offended at the words, but deep inside I knew this was true. My limited understanding of Christianity was that God would rescue me from all trouble. My method wasn’t working for me and this comment provoked me to find what was real. So my journey began. I loved the writings of Paul, who seemed to be the tough, challenging, questioning person who personified what I felt at times. Paul spoke about open doors with many adversaries.
In the back of this book is a section called “More Scriptures on Faith” that re-enforces the teaching contained in this book. These will strengthen you to walk in today’s challenging world.
How many times do we want to follow Jesus and obey Him, but in a moment of distraction, or lack of commitment, we fail! Paul, in the New Testament teaches significantly on this subject. Paul puts it this way: Romans 7:15-20 New International Version (NIV) 15.For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. Romans 7:24-25New King James Version (NKJV) Then Paul finished this section with these words: 24. ‘ O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?’ Paul knew that wretched feeling! It is about the un-doing of the ‘me’ in my life!
When the Holy Spirit put in my heart to write this book, I shared briefly with some friends these verses the Lord had been impacting in my heart. “Oh, you must write that” , came their replies.
So, the journey started, and so many times I wanted to give up as it seemed I was living this over and over, BUT the Holy Spirit kept in there with me and the book was completed. I had to re-live the reality of it all.
This book shares real life stories and the authenticity of Gods Word. Central to these teachings is the need to come daily to the foot of the Cross and die to self and rise in Him and walk with Him.

Many in today’s world may feel forsaken, unloved… But the truth is God has not turned his back on you. He loves you and is speaking tenderly to your heart – if you will listen.
He Speaks Tenderly explores the tender voice of God – from the Garden of Eden through to the New Testament. In Song of Solomon He is the tender voice of the Beloved Bridegroom.
From the least unlikely people to those who weren’t named but know to God, it seems He still speaks tenderly to the hearts that will not only awaken to Him but also respond to His tender voice.
He Speaks Tenderly takes the reader on a journey from Genesis, some of the great love stories, and then into the New Testament, where we meet Jesus speaking tenderly to those hurt and torn in daily life circumstances, challenged through disappointment and discouragement.

On 14 July 1958, I ran to the front of a building in a Billy Graham crusade “Souls in Conflict.” I remember that building so well, the place I sat and the conflict within that I felt. I was a young teen searching for answers and searching for rescue. I had been sexually abused as a young girl. I felt shame and insecurity and I was drowning in my past and my self-pity, and I needed someone to care.
That Crusade was a night I will never forget. I was glued to the screen for the showing of a movie but I was also chained to my seat, or it felt like that anyway. Oh, I needed this Jesus they talked about, but I couldn’t move.
Then suddenly I almost leapt from my chair, and ran to the front loosed from the chains, and wept I deep repentance. His love overwhelmed me and I had a sense of beautiful Peace.
Just a few days after the Crusade and my decision to follow Jesus, my life took a big turn and changed forever in an awful way. I was violently attacked and raped by a man I knew and had trusted. I barely escaped
